It's long overdue...but we are finally starting our blog!!
In an attempt to keep everyone updated, as well as documenting our pregnancy, we are starting a blog of our adventure into parenthood. God help us! We are very blessed and excited, we well as anxious and nervous as expected. Unfortunately, there is not a guide to the perfect pregnancy or raising the perfect child but I know that's where all the fun of being a parent lies.
So far, the pregnancy has been great. I won't lie and say I feel 100% all the time but I will brag about no morning sickness. If I get sick tomorrow, blame my brag karma. I am enjoying going to bed by 10 every night and taking quick naps. I'm reading 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' and 'Your Pregnancy Week by Week' and self diagnosing all my pregnancy symptoms. One thing I have learned is: "Everything is normal during pregnancy". I think I have discovered some new pregnancy symptom, only to realize a chapter is already dedicated to it in one of my self help books. Feeling yucky is normal.
So, here's a recap of the first three months. I'll spare everyone the details of the end of February/early March. I'm sure you can figure it out. The last week of March I started feeling 'odd'. A weird, never felt this way, 'odd'. After three pregnancy tests and a frantic call to Jeff at the office, I realized why: I was Pregnant.
After that realization and a confirmation appointment with my Dr, we started planning the perfect way to tell the parents. Jeff's parents were heading to town for a wedding and were planning a crawfish boil while in town, so I casually invited my parents down as well. We had all the grandparents open a special gift, which was a green/yellow bib for each grandparent that said 'I Love Papa, I Love Grandpa Butch, I Love Granny or I Love Grandma Chris'. You can say, they took the hint. Lucky for us, we had a sonogram that week and had pictures of our little gummy bear to share!! My dad bragged about how he was expecting the good news over Easter....little did I know at the time!
Last week we were finally able to hear the heartbeat. What a relief and blessing it was to hear it! I finally told work this past week as well. Surprisingly, half of my co-workers already 'knew'. I was giving off the pregnancy glow already!!
So, now the countdown to November 21st is on! I think its perfect....just in time for the holidays!! We may be having a Boston Market Thanksgiving this year but I know its a Thanksgiving we'll never forget.
Stay tuned....I have 6 more months to go....

I'm so happy for you both. Pregnancy is an amazing time but even better than that is motherhood. Enjoy everything!
Go buy "Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy." It is not a medical pregnancy book but what you would expect to hear from all your girlfriends that have already had a baby. And if you already haven't found out Motherhood Maternity has the most awful return policy. Old Navy and Target were great plus cute stuff too!
