This week we started our Parenting Classes at the hospital. We felt that the classes would benefit us both since we haven't recently been around newborns. I had never changed a diaper until a few months ago and I'm not even sure if Jeff ever has!! The class went over how to give the baby a sponge bath, care for the circumcision, give a baby massage, swaddle the baby, burp the baby....basically all the basics. We also went over product reviews, which Jeff and I felt we were already advanced on. Next week's class goes over feeding. Surprisingly, we were one of the furthest along couples in the class. There was one couple due this month, one a week before us and everyone else was due in December or January. We were one of the youngest couples too I thought! Overall, the class is beneficial and I'm making lists of things I haven't thought of yet. We ended up back at Target today to get some baby products that I hadn't thought about, like Vaseline for the circumcision. By the way, I am not looking forward to that. It looks so painful!! Poor baby! I'm glad babies have short memory spans!
Other than that, things are moving along smoothly. I have been really tired lately. I catch myself yawning all day at work, even when I make sure I get 8 hours or so of sleep a night. My belly is popping out too!! Tomorrow, I'll get Jeff to take some updated pictures of me. We've talked about going to the beach to get some pictures, but the weather has been overcast all weekend so far.
We're still waiting on our baby dresser and chest of drawers. It should be here in the next week or two and I will be so happy when it arrives. I'm ready to get the nursery organized!
It's amazing to think that he'll be here in 40 or so days!! Time is flying by!
